What was Sajid thinking while making Himmatwala, was he making a biopic ode to Jeetendra

What was Sajid thinking while making Himmatwala, was he making a biopic ode to Jeetendra
Only Sajid know what he was doing while making the film Himmatwala.  Panned by critics from all over India, this film is sure to bite the dust.  A Newspaper even said that Sajid didn't have balls to tag the movie as a Sajid Khan Film because you cannot call this hodge podge movie a film.

The comedy fails to evoke laughs, the villians look rather squeamish.  Only saving grace is Ajay and Tammanah.  Ajay lives upto his character or what ever that is.  Tammanah has potential only if she avoid films like these in future.

Mahesh Manjrekar and Paresh Rawal are thoroughly wasted in the film nor their characters are faintly comic.   Farhan copied Don with Shahrukh but he gave a distinct identity to the character of Don and set the film in today's world with flashy cars, babes et al.  The greatest mistake Sajid did was to set the film in 1980s.  Often called the worst decade for Bollywood in terms of creativity, if Sajid had just borrowed the idea and adapted it into 2013, the film would have mustered some audience at the theatres but who would want to watch a 1980s film in a new avatar.

It would take real himmat to watch the Himmatwala.

Himmatwala 2013 Old Wine in a New Bottle, has Bollywood run out of ideas

Himmatwala 2013 Old Wine in a New Bottle, has Bollywood run out of ideas
Astonishing as it may seem but the fad of remaking old hindi films continues at a good pace.  After the success of Don by Farhan Akhtar, may producers and directors are queuing up to make refurbished old hits.  Himmatwala is one such film by Sajid Khan.

When will Vashu Bhagnani stop wasting money? The week ahead

Rangrezz

Vashu Bhagnani is hell bent on making a star out of his son, only this time he has taken the services of Priyadarshan to direct Rangrezz.  The original movie in Tamil has already been made in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali.  Though it proved to be a hit in almost all languages, hindi cinema is a different ball game all together.

Having a 'Paan' after a hearty meal is a habit of the people of Indian subcontinent.  Though chastisised and criticized in west for not being good for health, the 'Paan' is quite popular here.  This paan wala has a unique way make a paan.  He shakes a bell (Ghanti) every time after he makes a  paan for the customer.

Jolly LLB, is it Munnabhai series film Part III or a spoof of My Cousin Vinny

Vidhu Vinod Chopra has always given us beautiful movies like Parinda, Parineeta, Mission Kashmir and the Munna Bhai series.  The Munna Bhai series is a cult film which has a unique blend of comedy and social message.  Story has it that Vidhu Vinod Chopra offered Subhash Kapoor, the director of Jolly LLB to make the 3rd instalment of Munnabhai.  It is not known what transpired between the two but Subhash Kapoor has gone ahead and made Jolly LLB without Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Saare Jahan Se Mehnga, a film to watch out for

This week is going to an interesting one from Bollywood point of view.  The makers of Phas Gaye Re Obama have come out with their take on the price rise in India.  With Phas Gaye Re Obama they took on the United States of America for bringing recession to the world of thieves and thugs in an remote rural outpost and ruining the livelihood of hundreds of kidnappers, extortionist and thugs in general.  It gave us a satirical glimpse in to hierarchy of the world of thugs with a small don, his big version and ultimately the biggest version of thieves in India the political bosses.
