Abhishek Kapoor's honest attempt with Kai Po Che is praiseworthy but as a whole his experiment with continuing the Rock On!! legacy has failed.  The film based on friendship, politics, cricket and religion may have all the basic ingredients of a block buster but Abhishek has't been able to weave the same kind of magic he did with Rock On!!.

Today is the birth anniversary of Manmohan Desai, a producer, director who gave us big blockbusters in the 1980s.  The original poor man's showman, his films had the panache and elan.  Today we remember this great producer/director with fondest memories.

Two good films last week , what can we expect this Friday

The last week saw release of two really good films, one for story and other film just for choreography.  Special Chhabbis, as the Bar Tender has already reviewed 14.02.2013, is a a special movie with all the trappings of a bollywood movie.  True suspense, good story and very good acting from the cast has won the critics and the fans alike.  Akshay has created a different fan club of fans for him with this film.

The year has begun and we are already into February and the Bar Tender was wondering whether this year may see any big hits.  But so far the quality of the films as been from good to worse, none justified the label 'Very Good'.  But the Bar Tender has changed his opinion after watching Akshay Kumar in Special Chhabbis.
